About Justin Mayer
I design and build products that increase productivity — enabling developers to accomplish more in less time.
I also speak at conferences, particularly about privacy and security.
Proliferation of networked computing devices has facilitated human interaction in an unprecedented manner (which is good), but these connections are increasingly threatened by security and privacy intrusions. I am therefore doing my part to restore the safety and integrity of our digital interactions.
By building tools that empower us to securely share our lives with one another, I believe we can take back control of our data from mega-corporations and their overly-centralized walled gardens.
I have made location independence a cornerstone of the life I’ve built for myself. You’ll usually find me in the Italian Alps.
After receiving higher education degrees from the University of California (Berkeley) and Wharton, I’ve learned that the most important knowledge is found on the web, in books, and from folks we meet along the way.
“Make sure you’re spending your time on something you believe in. When you see something in the world that you feel passionate about, align your goals and intent toward effecting that change. Life is too short to do anything else.” —Justin
I also lead a number of open-source projects.
